Most of All


When Glitch saw the deposed queen, the woman known as Lavender Eyes, an echo reverberated through his empty head. The echo of a longing he had once known for this woman, the disembodied memory of wanting her, needing her, but making do with the occasional friendly touch of her hand on his, a smile or kind word from her regal lips, the secret thrill when her purple eyes met his.

He had loved her. A deeply hidden, unrequited love that lingered even after his brain had been plucked out.

It was hopeless now, at least before she had kept him by her side because he was wise. Now he was a mindless fool with nothing to offer her.

He hung his head then was surprised to feel a hand soft against his cheek, raising his face so he looked into lavender eyes.

“Ambrose,” she said. “My counselor and friend, I think that I have missed you most of all…”
