The Violet Sea

We are rivers, she and I.

Rivers of color.

I am red. Bright strawberry sparkles on the surface, darkening as you go deeper to the colors of anger and old wounds. Blood red.

She is blue. Tumultuous indigo on top, stormy, but easing into placid sky tones beneath. Baby blue.

We are rivers of color, red and blue, that flow together into a violet sea.

Lavender kisses, a lilac sea that is both of us and more than us. We are mermaids in this sea; it is where we were meant to be.

It is music.

It may be love.
