The Lure: Dollhouse drabble
Author: Bitterfig
Title: The Lure
Fandom: Dollhouse
Pairing: Paul Ballard/November (Mellie)
Summary: Freedom was a part of the Dollhouse’s trap.
Beta Reader: Fedink
Rating: R
Warnings: Sexuality, language.
Author’s Note: Written for Oxoniensis: Porn Battle VIII for the prompt “freedom”.

The Lure

After Ballard found out Mellie was a Doll, he didn’t think he’d be able to touch her again.

He ended up surprising himself.

It turned out there was a terrifying, exhilarating freedom in fucking someone you knew wasn’t real.

Before, he’d felt a responsibility towards her. Her feelings had mattered to him. He’d wanted her to think well of him. He’d cared. Now though he knew that the muffiny girl-next-door was really a made-to-order fuck doll, a hot, sucking honey cunt programmed for him.

He’d never known such abandon.

For the first time he truly understood the appeal of the Dollhouse.

oh, my. yes. I love Dollhouse, and have such fears it will go the way of so much else of Whedon's work. I don't believe it will ever inspire the same kind of fandom energy that Firefly or Buffy did. No, Dollhouse seems to have passed much of fandom by. But it such a lovely complex series, isn't it?

And this, yes, this is definitely a good perspective of Paul. By the end of that first season there, we are all left wondering what he thinks of the Dollhouse now, and you work with that.

Umm, I guess what I am saying is that for all that I am totally loving this little ficlet, I am also totally over the moon that someone is writing Dollhouse.

Thank you so much. I'm glad you liked my drabble. Dollhouse really got under my skin. It doesn't come together the same way Firefly did but it definately touches on some fasinating issues about identity and morality.
