Anywhere I Lay My Head Is Home: Dark Angel Fic
Author: Bitterfig
Title: Anywhere I Lay My Head Is Home
Fandom: Dark Angel
Pairing: Alec/Normal
Summary: Alec was a genetically engineered meta-human with a lifetime of covert military training. Still, he somehow managed to make a mess of things on a fairly regular basis.
Beta Reader: Fedink
Word Count: 944
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Sex. Normal.
Author’s Note: Written for Oxoniensis: Porn Battle VIII for the prompt “fantasy”. This is actually a pairing I’ve always wanted to write. Normal’s fawning admiration for Alec is one of the few canon man crushes I’ve ever spotted on network television.

Anywhere I Lay My Head Is Home

Alec was a genetically engineered meta-human with a lifetime of covert military training. Still, he somehow managed to make a mess of things on a fairly regular basis.

Case in point, the situation involving Heather, Kerri and the cute barista; three girls Alec had been dating who had independently become aware of each other’s existence. As a result, Kerri and the cute barista were staking out his apartment while Heather was waiting for him at Crash, doing shots and getting madder and meaner by the minute.

A bad situation, but not especially unusual. When this sort of thing happened Alec’s standard M.O. was to lay low at Joshua’s. However when he rode up to Joshua’s house he noticed the motorcycle out front.

Max.

Next to Heather, Kerri and the cute barista she was about the last person he wanted to deal with. She’d either want to continue the argument they’d been having at work all day or make it her business to pry into why he was there then judge him accordingly. Staying at Joshua’s was apparently not an option after all.

So Alec decided to think outside the box.

Hitting Normal up for overnight lodgings turned out to be a stroke of genius. When Alec showed up at his door, Normal was overjoyed. Positively radiant. Alec could honestly not remember anyone ever having been so glad to see him.

Normal listened to the whole sordid tale of Heather, Kerri and the cute barista (as well as several other stories about Alec’s exploits) in rapt awe, all the while fetching Alec beers, bringing him snacks, plumping the pillows for him, and changing the channels on the T.V.

Apparently extending his hospitality to Alec was Normal’s dearest held dream come true.

It was sort of pathetic, but Alec found himself enjoying it immensely. He liked attention and it went without saying that he hadn’t gotten doted on a whole lot at the Manticore Headquarters during his formative years.

“Woo boy, you have some kind of adventures with the ladies,” Normal declared and smacked him on the back in an excessively hearty manner.

“Woo boy.” Alec agreed.

“Say,” Normal’s hand lingered on his shoulder. “You feel a little tight, Monty. Am I overworking you? You want me to get those kinks out? I’ve been told I have magic hands.”

Okay. Normal was offering him a massage. Normal, who had a poorly concealed mancrush on Alec, was offering him a massage.

It was the sort of thing a school kid might try on the girl he liked. Not slick. And Alec knew that even if he did say yes Normal would never have the nerve to take it any further.

It was sort of pathetic but still, a man has to have his dreams.

“Sure,” Alec said. “Why not,” and took his shirt off.

Surprisingly, the massage turned out to be just what Alec needed. Normal had good, strong hands, and Alec was tense. Life on the run and all that. He let himself relax, let himself drift.

Gradually, his thoughts turned to sex as they so often did. He’d wanted to get laid that night, wasn’t that the whole point of Heather, Kerri and the cute barista? Alec depended on sex. He thrived on the thrill of it, but it was something else to him. Sex was the one time he could feel safe, close to someone else, not alone.

It was sort of pathetic but he almost wished Normal would try something. Unfortunately the guy was so deep in denial there was no chance of that. Normal might have his fantasies but he’d no more acknowledge them than Alec would acknowledge his loneliness.

Still, who turns down a fantasy come true?

Alec rotated his bare shoulders against Normal’s hands.

“That’s good,” he said. “Lower. Yeah. A little lower.” He got Normal’s hands down to his lower back then grabbed hold of them, guided them around his waist, over his stomach, across his chest. Normal made a noise like a wounded squishy toy. “It’s okay,” Alec assured him. “It’s okay you like me. Its okay you like my body. Just for tonight, you don’t have to pretend.”

“You’re my employee,” Normal was trying to pull himself together. “This is a violation of the code of ethics….”

“Just for tonight, that doesn’t matter.” He turned around so they were face to face and took off Normal’s glasses.

Normal was sort of dweebish but well built, huge arms, broad chest somehow contrasted with the almost childlike wonder on his face. It was turning Alec on. He unbuttoned his fly, pulled down his jeans and underwear and guided Normal’s hand to his erection. He was rewarded by another of those sounds midway between a sob and a squeal of delight.

Normal’s fingers wrapped around his cock, gentle, almost reverent, coaxing him, teasing (did Normal know how to tease?) till he was almost unbearably hard.

That was when Normal went down on his knees.

“Yes,” Alec whispered. “God, yes.”

Normal took him in his mouth, tongue pliant and sleek against his shaft, sucking in rhythm. Alec didn’t try to force it, he only rubbed Normal’s shoulders, shouting, actually shouting encouragement until finally he exploded in orgasm.

Thinking on it afterwards, he would remember Normal swallowing his semen so he could say “thank you.” “Thank you,” that was what he said, again and again. In retrospect, this seemed strange to Alec because he hadn’t done anything for Normal. He didn’t even know if Normal had gotten off but he didn’t think about it that night. He just wrapped himself in Normal’s big arms and satiated fell asleep.

I was wondering how someone would manage this pairing but I think you hit on some pretty apt motivations. I could just picture that evening of Normal entertaining him.

Thank you so much, I'm glad you found it believable.
