Title: Juliet of the Pirates

Fandom: Heavenly Creatures (film)

Pairing: Juliet/Pauline

Word Count: 149

Warnings: References to mayhem and murder, real and imagined.

Juliet of the Pirates

After Pauline’s mum was killed, Juliet was sent away without being allowed so much as a good-bye.

On the ship to England, Juliet tried to tell stories as she always had, to replace uncooperative reality with a preferable fantasy.  She tried to imagine that the ship would be besieged by pirates, who learning her history would take her in and make her one of them.  Then Juliet with her pirate crew would turn the ship back to New Zealand, raze the towns, marauding and pillaging till she found Pauline in whatever juvenile detention center they’d locked her away in.  The girls would be reunited and sail the seas together…

Juliet tried but this time she couldn’t lose herself in her dreams.  The weight of reality crushed her fancies, pressed in on her.

She and Pauline had killed a woman.

They would never be allowed to see each other again.

Title: Playing Pirate

Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel

Pairing: Darla/Drusilla

Word Count: 160

Warnings: Gore

Playing Pirate

What should have been a simple crossing to join Angelus and William in Ireland took a grotesque turn when Drusilla took a fancy to playing pirate.  Amused by the idea, Darla indulged her and quickly enough they’d killed the other passengers and turned the crew to vampires.

They ran a black flag up the mast and Drusilla caressed the skull of one of her unfortunate victims singing gleefully; “Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s death for me.”

For the next few weeks they ran rampant, terrorizing any ship they chanced upon, murdering and robbing, piling the blood-stained decks of their vessel with jewels, dolls and dresses.

Angelus and William eventually came to collect them, but for many years to come sailors in the Irish Sea spoke in terror of a ship that sailed only at night, crewed by the undead and captained by two beautiful, pale women who strolled hand in hand amidst the death and carnage they brought, laughing.
