At Home In the Universe

He’d been getting to know a couple of Tiresiasian butterfly creatures capable of changing both sex and color at will.  It was as they say quite a kick in the pants but after a few hours Jack found that what he really wanted was to be back in the TARDIS, back with Rose and the Doctor.

He found them amidst the banks of technology from a million different planets and a million different eras.  Rose was sleeping, her head against the Doctor’s chest.  He was awake (Jack wasn’t sure if Time Lords even slept), watching over her.

Jack had been around, experienced every kind of sensation but the warmth he felt when he saw the two of them was something new, unfamiliar.  It wasn’t even that he wanted to sleep with either of them (well, maybe a little).

They fit together perfectly – a father and a daughter, a lady and her knight – yet somehow Jack also fit with them.  He felt like he belonged with them.  Somehow in the vortex of time and space the three of them together had made a home.
