Sweetness and Dark

She was the Witch and at the same time she was still Azkadellia, the little princess lost to the darkness.

The part of her that remained Azkadellia remembered and longed for freedom and light, the love of a mother, a father, and a sister.

She never felt this yearning more strongly than when DG was brought before her.

It made her heart hurt to see her little sister again – the little sister she had loved, the little sister she had killed.

Little DG, all grown up.

DG still had the most beautiful blue eyes Azkadellia had ever seen.  Eyes that made her want to remember the sweetness that had once been between them and how it had been turned to bitter poison.

She still loved her sister but the Witch inside her twisted everything.

All that was left of Azkadellia reached out, trying to bring her memories back to life.  She touched DG’s hair and found it was fine and soft as it had always been.  And DG’s cheek was still as warm and subtle as a downy peach.  When Azkadellia kissed her she tasted cidery, like apples picked from the ground.

DG recoiled from her in terror and disgust for the unwanted caresses of her enemy.  She remembered no sweetness between them, she saw only a merciless killer, a cruel and power hungry tyrant.

There was no place for her, so Azkadellia faded into the darkness.  When she spoke next, it was with the Witch’s voice.

Wow, that's awesome. Really powerful.

And this: When Azkadellia kissed her she tasted cidery, like apples picked from the ground. :shivers: Wonderful.

Thanks for commenting and for adding me. I friended you back. Your journal looks pretty adventurous. Mine I'm afraid is 100% fiction, no steamy real life escapades but I hope you'll continue to enjoy reading it.

Ooh, this is a powerful and chilling look at Azkadellia's POV from inside the possession. There's a flow to this that makes me wonder if Azkadellia and the witch could be more or less unified or distinct depending upon the strength of Azkadellia's emotions and memories at any given time... Great ficlet!
